Vintage 1966 Kenskill Travel Trailer // RV Tour

May 31, 2019

I don’t remember 1966 but I have learned that a lot of things happened that year that completely affect all of the things I do remember and know today.

Here in Canada, the Canada Pension Plan was introduced and has been helping our seniors with some guaranteed income after retirement ever since. I only hope there is some left for us.

England won the World Cup and shared mini skirts with everyone and the US was watching Star Trek while they were in a space race with Russia.

The average American income was $6900/yr and a car to pull an RV cost $2650 with gas costing .39 cents/gal. People were full of angst, due to the Vietnam War and the every growing Race Riots and the idea of owning a Kenskill Travel Trailer that could take you away to isolation and peace and quiet while carrying all of the comforts of home with you must have really sounded like an awesome idea.

The Kenskill was a beaut! From the chrome aluminum siding and white walled tires to the trendy and now unique robin egg blue appliances, it was a home on wheels.

It slept 4 and had a full dry bath and kitchen. I could just imagine a family enjoying some much needed time away at the lake.

I am soooo thankful that there are folks out there that have taken it upon themselves to preserve this kind of history for the rest of us to enjoy. That is exactly what the crew and Jack Seismore’s Traveland RV Museum have done and my hat is off to them.

If you remember the Kenskill, maybe you had one or knew someone who did, I’d love to hear about it in the comments. Also don’t forget to join us here and SUBSCRIBE on youtube so we can share more with you.

I love to travel, especially in the Beaver, and combining our adventures with our reviews really is having my cake and eating it too. We are rvSometimers, meaning that we do things just a little different then most RV vloggers but it just goes to show that anyone can fit into this lifestyle.
